It was an exhilarating feeling, driving my Mini home for the first time. There were lots of smiles and waves in my direction. As soon as I got home I was on a quest for information. The computer and some in depth Googling led me to some potential issues to watch for in the future and the discovery of a Mini car club, the Atlanta Minis. It just so happened that there was a get together in the near future to the Blairsville Scottish festival and it sounded like a load of fun. I talked to Fran about it and we agreed to go. I couldn't wait and was unsure what to expect when we got there. We met up with the group in Dawsonville. It was quite the eclectic mix of people. Everyone had one thing in common, their love for Mini. I met John Gossett, among others. He was making Mini stickers and magnets at the time and I learned about his club, the GA Miniacs. As we headed out onto the road I was a little anxious. I had never had an opportunity to take a drive like this in a car that was made to handle the curves so well. Conditions were perfect, it was a clear and bright day and there wasn't a whole lot of traffic on the roads. I gripped the steering wheel tightly as I tested the waters on what my Mini could handle. As I became comfortable with the performance of the Mini I was able to relax and really get into enjoying the drive. Curves, curves, curves. There were so many curves. So much fun. As we all pulled up to the Scottish Festival in Blairsville it was official, I was, without a doubt, totally in love with my Mini who did not have a name yet. That was a tough one. It had to be the perfect name that meant something to me and would reflect the personality that I wanted my Mini to project. But what would that be?? I decided to call him "Blue" for the time being but that was just temporary.
